The structure of an Enterprise Architecture (EA) is guided by business requirements, which often must change to cope with dynamic opportunities and threats. Such changes greatly influence the value of the current EA structure in that some parts may no longer be suitable and, hence, need to be adapted/replaced. If such deficiency/weakness in an EA structure is not tackled in time, extra maintenance costs may incur and escalate over time. Recent research in EA has referred to those weaknesses as EA smells.
Various EA smells and the strategies to detect them have been defined and proposed. As a next step, this thesis is designed to develop a tool-supported approach to detecting EA Smells and visualizing them for further analysis.
